Creatively Uncovering Sites: Strategies for Finding Your Next Development Opportunity
Presented by Chris Allcorn
Sometimes finding viable development sites requires thinking back to traditional people-centric methods that AI cannot perform. This interactive session explores creative approaches to site identification that go beyond listings, broker packages, and AI services. Learn how to utilize people, technology, and curiosity to discover hidden opportunities before they hit the market.
What You'll Learn:
How to spot underutilized properties through visual reconnaissance, listening skills, pattern recognition, and most importantly... intuition
Research methods for identifying potential sites, including tax records, utility maps, zoning changes, and demographic shifts
Strategies to build relationships with individual people and social groups who can lead you to off-market opportunities
Methods for playing the long and short game in uncovering sites through some traditional methods that cost nothing and are the most effective for what we do in small scale development.
You'll leave with a practical toolkit of creative site-finding strategies you can implement immediately, helping you build a stronger pipeline of development opportunities in your target market.
